What are Marketplace Contract Terms?
A Contract term is the contract agreement between you and and another company in the Bokun Marketplace. It is where you define the reseller commission and the products you want to sell on Marketplace.

Do I need to create contract terms before I can make a contract in the marketplace?
Yes, it is important to create contract terms before making a proposal on the Marketplace.

Which party creates contrat terms?
Only suppliers can create contract terms. If you are only a re-seller and do not offer any products, you do not have to set up contract terms; you can go directly to the marketplace and send contract proposals to your suppliers.

How many contract terms can I create?

You can create as many as you need. You can create default terms that you use for all your contracts, or you can create individual contract terms for each partner that you work with, where you can create special deals and set different commission for each one.

How to Create Contract Terms

  1. To create contract terms, select "Contracts" from the top bar and then "Contract Terms" from the drop-down list

2. Select "Add" to create new Contract terms

3. In the new contract terms page, you have three tabs that you can navigate to: "Terms", "Product selection"and "Price Preview"

4. Fill out the Terms

The first tab "Terms" is where you define the basic information of your contract:

Title: Add a descriptive title For Example: Example: Default terms, Terms for XYZ
Price catalogue:
Select the price catalog that should be used for these terms
Invoice currency:
Select the Invoice currency that should be used for these terms. The invoice currency is the currency that the invoices between seller and supplier will be in.
Contract type:
You have two options

  • Commission based: Select this option for Marketplace contracts when the seller is using your prices in their online booking engines. The end customer will see your prices and the seller will receive a commission off of those prices.
  • Net rate: Select this option for sellers who are not selling your products directly on their website. For example, travel agencies, agents, any seller where the end customer is not getting prices directly from you.

Select product categories for commission: Select the categories these contract terms apply to, for example, only Experiences, or both Accommodation and Car Rentals.

After you select the available product categories, you can select the commission per category. Then, add a commission in the available fields, for all the categories you selected.

Override commission for selected ticket categories
Ticket categories are categories you can add on your pricing categories. You have the option to specify a different commission per ticket category. For example, you can select the ticket category "Adult" and give the Adult category a commission of 20%, then you can select the ticket category "Child" and add 5% commission.

Commission for extras: As a supplier, you can choose to exclude your bookable extras from earning a commission or you can set a lower commission on bookable extras.

Commission for pick up & drop off: As a supplier, if you charge separately for pickup and/or drop off, you can exclude your pickup and drop off prices from commission, or you can set a lower commission on the pickup / drop off than you have on the product.
: if you are not charging separately for pickup/drop off, this commission is not going to have any effect.

Commission groups:
You can add a seperate commission per Commission group. Here you can find more information on adding commission groups.

Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
