What is a promo code?

Promo codes are unique codes you can create to offer a temporary discount to your products. For example, you may want to give your new email newsletter subscribers a discount if they purchase your products. You could name this promo code "NEWSLETTER" or "NEWSIGNUP." 

Promo codes are added at checkout by the traveler to receive a discount off of the total amount.

How do I create a promo code?

Select "Products" from the top bar and then select "Promo Codes" from the drop down list.

Click on "Add" to create a new promo code.

Fill in the form to create a new promo code.

Code: This is the code the traveler receives to add during the check out process. For example, "NEWSIGNUP."

Internal description: A short description of the code: "Promo code for new email newsletter subscribers."

Discount: Add the percentage discount your customers gets off of the total price of the product.

Booking Validity period: Add the booking date range the promo code is valid for. The date range are the dates that the product can be booked using the promo code.

Travel Validity period: The dates of travel the code is valid for. 

For example, you would like to offer a discount for the holiday season, where the booking validity period is from Dec. 1st- 15th (when the traveler must book) and the travel validity period is Dec 24th- Jan 2nd (when the traveler must go on the experience).

Valid for: Select which products the promo code is valid for

All products: Apply discount to all of your products

Selected products: Apply discount to selected products. You will be asked to select the products this promo code applies to after you hit "Save."

Apply discount to extras: Select this box if you want to apply this discount to bookable extras 

Apply discount to pick up and drop off: Select this box if you wan t to apply the discount to pick up and drop off services. This is only applicable if you separately charge for pick up or drop off.

Click the blue "Save" button.

How do I Add Promo Codes to the Booking Process?

After creating a promo code, you will need to allow promo codes to be part of the booking process.

Click on the gear icon in the top right hand corner of the screen and select "Widgets" from the side menu. 

Select the "Checkout" widget.

Scroll to the bottom of the page. You will find two boxes you need to check.
 Select the box for: "Show shopping cart" and "Allow the customer to enter promo code."

Save and continue

Your checkout step (the second step in the booking process) will now show a field where the customer can add their promo code to claim their discount.

Is there a report that shows how many people have used my promo codes?

To see how many people have booked your experiences using a promo code, you can go to Sales overview report.
To find the report go to "Reports" on the the top menu bar and then select "sales overview report." At the top of the report, select "More search results" and search for bookings made with your selected promo code.
